About Breakara Demolition
Breakara Demolition works in Brooklyn buildings, where the job is usually as much about what stays standing as what comes down.

What we do
We are a demolition contractor. We strip out interiors, take down whole and partial structures, break out concrete, and clear what the work produces.
We work across Brooklyn, in row houses, two-family homes, walk-up apartment buildings, shops with apartments above them, and commercial interiors.
That is four things rather than a long list, and it is deliberate. They are the jobs we do, and doing them properly in this building stock is a specific skill.
How we think about a Brooklyn job
Most demolition here happens inside a building that somebody else is still using. There are people upstairs, a neighbour through the party wall, a shared stair that four other apartments need, and a sidewalk that the whole block walks along.
So the work is not really about taking things apart. Anyone can do that. It is about knowing what has to be left completely untouched, and setting the job up so that it is.
We plan the route out before we plan anything else, because on a narrow attached lot the route decides the sequence, the timeline and how much disruption everybody else has to live with.
What you can expect from us
A straight answer on the first call
If your job is bigger than it sounds, we will say so then rather than halfway through it.
The building protected properly
Stairs, hallways, shared entrances and finished surfaces that are staying get covered before anything starts.
The site left clean
The work area and the whole route out get cleaned, not just the room you were looking at.

We know what is behind the walls here
More than half of Brooklyn was built before 1930, and that stock has its own habits. Plaster over timber lath. Walls added and removed over a century without much record. Services running where nothing suggests they would.
We open a small area and look before committing to a room, because in these buildings what is behind the finish is genuinely unknown until somebody checks.
Knowing what usually goes wrong in this kind of building is most of what we bring to a job. It is why the first conversation is about the building rather than about the price, and why what decides the cost is written down rather than kept back.

Other people's property
On an attached lot, the wall at the side of your house is holding up two buildings. The stair outside your door belongs to everyone on the floor. The sidewalk belongs to the block.
We treat all of that as part of the job rather than as something outside it. That means keeping vibration down near a shared wall, keeping shared parts of a building usable throughout, and keeping time on the street short.
It is also simple self-interest. The jobs that go badly in Brooklyn almost never go badly because of the demolition. They go badly because of what happened to everything around it.
